Asher’s Homebirth | Bendigo Birth Photographer

Here is a woman ready to embrace all that birth was going to be. As I observed around the room, I noticed she had made a special board dedicated to her baby on the way, full of positive and loving things. It made me smile to know both her and Anthony were so ready for their son to enter their family. As the hours went by, approaching dawn, Anthony faithfully stayed by her birth pool though I could see he was struggling to stay awake. It was a beautiful scene of peace.  There was a log fire going in the lounge, her two midwives knitting on the couch and the sun gently rising in all its colour through the windows.  Well, Stevi might have had a different view but those were the surroundings of her birth environment. How beautiful.
As things started to intensify, we gathered around the birth pool. I was trying to imagine what was going through Stevi’s mind. I thought about my own birth approaching and knowing how birthing takes you to a different mind zone. She was clearly in the zone, with one job on her mind.
It is hard for anyone to watch a loved one in a difficult moment, and it was evident on their faces. Noone stopped believing in her. Stevi’s strength was amazing and at last… He was born!! Joy and relief filled the room!! What a gorgeous little boy!!
Thank you for inviting us all into your birth space and home!  So special. xx

Jasmine - Tears welling in my eyes seeing these photos. What immense power in the image of this mumma vocalising during a surge, only those who have birthed will ever understand that. And the one of her smiling after receiving her baby, divine relief and enjoyment! Such a beautiful baby boy. Well done mumma, you are the inspirational woman we need to advocate for positive birthing! Amazing job Bree

Elizabeth Murphy - Wow Bree, Beautiful pictures that take me straight back to that amazing morning. Stevi was so strong and focused and powerful and graceful in labour and birth. And Anthony so loving and so close and together trusting her and the whole process. Her family there, sending love and just being there, totally for her. It was a beautiful birth and little Asher revealed himself calm and gorgeous with all his lovely hair. I am so glad you were there you have made such an exquisite record of a woman in her glory.
