Paul and Chelle have been friends of my husband’s for years, and from the day I met them, they embraced me as much as they did him. They are the kind of people you want in your life, genuine and down to earth friends. Their relationship together is inspiring as they have such mutual respect for each other. I captured a moment that you can find below, when Chelle put her arm up on Paul and sweetly said, ‘thanks for all the massages’ and he softly replied, ‘thanks for birthing our little girl’. Bit of a tear jerker! How beautiful!!
It was an absolute honour when Chelle asked me to photograph their birth, and might I add, no small thing that they have allowed me to share these incredibly intimate moments with you!
As they live three hours away in Warragul, it was a bit of a risk to make it there in time. Chelle called me saturday night, a week before she was due just to have a general chat about whether it was going to work with me getting there and also having to juggle my own son. Mid conversation… ‘Hang on… my waters just broke!! I’ll call you back!!”
I wasn’t waiting for a call back, I packed in 2 minutes flat, jumped in the car with my hubby and son and we were on our way! Couldn’t have been better timing!
I arrived at the hospital near midnight. With an amazing mother and a supportive dad journeying through the labour process, their little girl peacefully entered the world at 3:47am. As I saw the sun rising through the curtains, I thought ‘Just another day to the world, but the first time the sun has ever risen for this little one, and here her journey begins. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else right now. Is this really my job?’
Thank you Paul, Chelle and the nursing staff for allowing me to witness and share this God given miracle!! Enjoy the story below xx
